Motorists travelling through Tamborine are being warned to expect delays from today as a major four-month road rehabilitation project gets underway.
The upgrade works will take place along a 3.5-kilometre section of Tamborine Mountain Road, Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road and Vonda Youngman Drive.
Construction activities will run Monday to Friday between 6am and 6pm, with crews set to remain on site until mid-October 2026.
Transport authorities are warning drivers to expect changed traffic conditions throughout the project, including lane closures, reduced speed limits, stop-and-hold traffic control and 24-hour temporary traffic lights.
“The project team will make every effort to minimise impacts, however motorists may experience traffic delays throughout these works and should allow for extra travel time,” they said.
The Department of Transport is also reminding drivers that weather and site conditions could affect the construction schedule.
Motorists are being asked to follow all directions from traffic controllers and take extra care when travelling through the work zone.
