The skies above Surfers Paradise have cleared, but the excitement is only just beginning for local aviation enthusiasts.

Following a blockbuster weekend that drew an estimated 300,000 fans, the wildly popular Pacific Airshow has officially been locked in to remain on the Gold Coast for at least another two years.

Organisers have hailed this year’s three-day spectacle as the biggest show in the event’s history, with roaring jets and heart-stopping acrobatic displays taking over Surfers Paradise.

Even a few showers couldn’t stop the massive turnout cementing the airshow’s status as a powerhouse tourism driver for the city.

As a result, the State Government and Experience Gold Coast has stepped in to lock in the event for another two years.

The move ensures the aviation extravaganza will continue to call the Gold Coast home until at least 2028, providing a massive economic boost for local accommodation providers and businesses.

Airshow CEO Kevin Elliott has welcomed the announcement, revealing that planning is already underway to elevate the show even further.

“This is one of the biggest events on the calendar, and we’re going all in to make it bigger, bolder, and better every single year,” he said.

“The best is yet to come, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone.”
