Two men have been charged over the alleged attempted robbery of a Gold Coast business.
The brazen duo is accused of entering the business on Laver Drive in Burleigh around 8.15pm on Saturday before threatening an employee into handing over cash.
“It is further alleged that the men left the address before returning a short time later in a Nissan Navara and crashing into the front entrance of the business,” Queensland Police said.
The pair then allegedly fled the scene on foot before being tracked down nearby and arrested.
A 22-year-old Mudgeeraba man has since been charged with a string of offences including one count of attempted robbery, threaten violence, one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.
He’s also been slapped with one count of driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence, one count of did drive motor vehicle under influence of liquor or drugs, one count of assault police officer, one count of serious assault police officer whilst adversely affect in public place, and two count of threats.
The man is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
A 23-year-old Bonogin man has also been charged with one count of did drive motor vehicle under influence of liquor or drug and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on 30 March.
Investigations are ongoing.
