A crime scene has been declared at the Gold Coast apartment owned by the partner of former Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.

Police raided the luxury beachfront unit in Burleigh Heads around 11am on Thursday, with officers seen leaving the property with a number of evidence bags.

Vision also captured detectives searching multiple areas of the unit, including inside a barbecue.

Weight-loss surgeon Dr Reza Adib, who is the long-term partner of Ms Palaszczuk, is not believed to have been home at the time of the raid.

Police confirmed the search had taken place in a statement shared to media on Thursday afternoon.

“Police declared a crime scene at an address in Burleigh Heads today, 30 April, as part of an ongoing investigation,” Queensland Police said.

“Detectives and specialist officers attended the address on Goodwin Terrace around 11am and investigations are ongoing.
