Heartbreaking news for Gold Coast Titans hooker Aaron Booth, who has played his last game of NRL for the season.

Scans have confirmed the 26-year-old suffered a “multi-ligament knee injury” in Friday night’s clash against Melbourne.

Booth, who has managed four games in 2022, came from the field early in the first half after suffering the horror knee injury in the 13th minute.

The devastating injury is expected to keep the hooker out of the game for a significant amount of time.

“He will require a reconstruction which will be planned after review with the surgeon early this week,” the club said in a statement on Monday.

Booth has been inundated with love since suffering the blow on Friday night, with good friend and former teammate Nicho Hynes among those to express their support.

The Sharks star wore the initials “A.B” on his wrist in his clash against the Dragons on Saturday, with the sweet gesture quickly going viral.

“I’ll try and dedicate the rest of this year to him. He’s my best mate and he pretty much saved my life,” Hynes told Fox League after the match.

“He’s had a terrible run with injuries and it just breaks my heart to see.

“He’s worked so hard to get back to where he is each time to play NRL and unfortunately just had no luck with injuries.

“I love him to death and I can’t wait to see him.”

Titans coach Justin Holbrook echoed similar sentiments after seeing both go down on Friday night.

“I feel for Boothy. He’s fought really hard to get his shot this year and it’s going to be really nasty for him… I hope he’s okay,” Holbrook said in his post-match press conference.
