The Gold Coast Suns will be looking for a strong start to their 2027 season, with the club facing a tough back end to the year.
The AFL has today released the full fixtures for next year.
As previously announced, the Suns will kick off their season with a trip to Perth to take on West Coast in Round One.
They will follow that up with back-to-back home games against Richmond and North Melbourne.
The Suns will play a total of 10 games at People First Stadium in 2027, one more than this year.
Among the highlights will be a Thursday night clash with Hawthorn to kick off Anzac Round, while the annual sellout against Collingwood has been locked in for Saturday, June 26, where Scott Pendlebury will face his old club for the first time.
But there will also be plenty of travelling, with the club playing at a total of 13 venues, which may come as a shock to Pendlebury.
In his entire record-breaking career, Pendlebury has only ever played at 11 venues.
In 2027, he’ll play at five venues he’s never played at.
The Suns have also reduced their annual Darwin trip to just one game, where they’ll take on Carlton in Round 10.
That will be followed by a much-welcome bye the following round.
Fox Footy has ranked the Suns’ draw as the eighth hardest for 2027.
They will play three of this year’s top 8 sides twice, including Brisbane, Hawthorn, and the Western Bulldogs.
But the side faces another difficult run home if it’s to make the finals.
In the final eight games of the year, the Suns will have to face the likes of Geelong, Sydney, Hawthorn, the Western Bulldogs, Fremantle and Brisbane, with that Q Clash against the Lions also marking the Suns’ final home game of the year.
The Suns will wrap up their season against Port in Adelaide.
