A teenage boy is fighting for life after being struck by a car in Ashmore.
The 16-year-old, believed to be a young tradie, was struck on Heeb St just after 2pm on Wednesday.
It’s understood the teen had stepped onto the road to try and remove a piece of timber that had fallen from a truck before he was hit.
Paramedics treated the boy on scene before rushing him to Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening head injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
The road was shut for some time following the accident before being reopened several hours later.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
