Thieves bungled attempt to break into Gold Coast supermarket

Bumbling would-be thieves have failed in their attempt to break into a Gold Coast supermarket.

Police were called to the store on Pascoe Rd in Ormeau around 12.40am on Wednesday after an alarm was set off.

Officers arrived to find the front doors of the store had been cracked, but the thieves couldn’t manage to smash their way inside.

Police are now investigating and will review CCTV footage.

Firefighters were also called after smoke alarms were also set off.

However, there was no sign of any fire.
