A man is facing a string of serious charges following two shocking hit-and-run crashes on the Gold Coast.
The drama unfolded around 5pm on Wednesday when a Toyota Hilux was involved in a crash at the exit 60 northbound off-ramp.
Investigators allege the driver fled the scene in the Hilux, only to return moments later where he crashed into a second vehicle.
Police managed to quickly track the ute down, arresting the 49-year-old male driver in Helensvale in dramatic scenes posted to social media.
Authorities allege the man failed to supply a specimen of breath for analysis.
Despite the wild scenes, thankfully no-one was physically injured.
The man has since been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, being in charge under the influence of liquor, and failing to provide a specimen of breath.
He’s due to face the Southport Magistrates Court on November 18.
