Two people have been charged after police allegedly uncovered $4.7 million worth of meth during a traffic stop on the M1 at Mudgeeraba.

Detectives from the Drug and Serious Crime Group intercepted a Toyota Rav 4 around 7.30pm Monday night.

Police allege they found two large sports bags filled with 35kgs of meth concealed in packages to look like imported tea.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 41-year-old NSW woman was arrested and has been charged with trafficking dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing property obtained from proceeds from trafficking in dangerous drugs and possess thing used.

The find led to officers raiding a home in Eagleby, where police allegedly located a large amount of cash and one kilogram of cannabis.

A 44-year-old Eagleby man has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs, possessing property obtained from proceeds, possession of things used and possess utensil.

He was issued a notice to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 8.
