A hiker has escaped serious injury after falling three metres down a cliff in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

The woman was walking in the Lamington National Park when she fell just after 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The incident sparked a major response from emergency services including paramedics and the State Emergency Service.

Thankfully, the woman was able to be walked out of the national park several hours later with the assistance of SES personnel.

She was assessed at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Logan Hospital in a stable condition with leg injuries.
