Organisers of the Pacific Airshow have announced an exciting new addition to this month’s event with the RAAF to show off its newest fighter jet.
The F-35A Lightning II is described as the Air Force’s most advanced weapon and is renowned for stealth, speed and agility.
It will perform two full demonstrations at the Pacific Airshow on the Saturday and Sunday of the event.
The F-35A will join an already impressive line-up, including the US Air Force Pacific Air Force’s F-22 Raptors and the RAAF Super Hornet.
Also joining this year’s event, the Queensland Fire Department will showcase their air operations with their water bombing aircraft, showing off their critical techniques in combating bushfires.
While organisers will also welcome Nitro Circus to the Pacific Airshow.
Co-founded by Travis Pastrana, Nitro Circus is well known for its electrifying live events.
The demonstrations will be held at the southern end of the Air Show precinct each day to encourage spectators to stick around after the air displays have finished.
Pacific Airshow Gold Coast Director Kevin Elliott says there’s not long to wait.
