Australian TV personality Matt Wright has been taken into custody in Darwin, after handing himself into police.
An arrest warrant was issued for the Outback Wrangler star on Monday, over a fatal helicopter crash that killed his co-star Chris ‘Willow’ Wilson in February.
The 43-year-old arrived in Darwin just before midday, after boarding a flight from Sydney this morning alongside his wife and newborn baby.
At Darwin Airport, the family were met with a huge media pack, with fiery scenes unfolding between Wright’s bodyguards and cameramen.
Wright is expected to be charged with a string of offences including perverting the course of justice, destruction of evidence, fabricating evidence, interfering with witnesses and two counts of unlawful entry.
According to a statement from Wright’s lawyers, he “strenuously denies any wrongdoing”.
It’s understood he plans to fight the charges and will likely face a bail application shortly.
No charges have been officially laid at this stage.
