A major investigation is underway following an alleged stabbing south of Tweed Heads that’s left one man dead and another in a serious condition.

Emergency crews were called to a home along Oxford Street in Kingscliff just after 8pm on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, they found a 29-year-old man with critical injuries.

He was treated by paramedics, but despite their efforts, he could not be revived and died at the scene.

A 66-year-old man was also treated for a wound to his arm before being flown to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A crime scene has since been established at the property as Tweed-Byron Police launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
