A woman has been charged after she allegedly made multiple bomb hoax threats to childcare centres and a primary school in Brisbane.

Police allege the woman sent a series of threatening messages to education centres in the Bayside area in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Officers immediately launched an investigation after being alerted to the bomb hoaxes and quickly arrested a 50-year-old Cleveland woman.

The woman was charged with five counts of making a bomb hoax – falsely inform bomb present.

“Police investigations have concluded that the alleged threats were unsubstantiated, and that there was no risk to any children or the community,” Queensland Police said.

“Police will further allege the woman was not known to, or connected with the centres or school”.

The woman will appear at the Cleveland Magistrate’s Court on June 5.
