Wildlife authorities have launched an urgent search after two bush turkeys were shot with arrows.

The birds were last spotted on Berrigans Road in Mudgeeraba, with RSPCA Queensland now desperately working to track them down

“This new case of animal cruelty is currently under investigation, and RSPCA Queensland is working with Wildcare so the birds can be rescued and receive urgent veterinary care,” RSPCA said.

“We cannot stress enough that not only is it ILLEGAL to shoot our wildlife and inflict deliberate pain and suffering on animals, but you will also face jail time and fines when caught”.

The case comes just months after a Peacock was found in the Tallai area with an arrow through its body.

Sadly, the peacock did not survive its injuries and had to be euthanised.
