If you grew up in the 80s… chances are you had a Ken Done doona, a beach towel, or at least something splashed with his iconic colours. His joyful, sun-soaked artwork was everywhere brightening up Aussie homes.
Now, the legendary artist himself is taking over HOTA with his new exhibition, “Ken Done: No Rules.”
Running from 13 September 2025 to 15 February 2026, the show brings together more than 40 years of Done’s work from his early pieces right through to his most recent creations all
The exhibition dives into five colourful themes celebrating his trademark love of bold colour, coastal life, and pure optimism. You’ll also find a mesmerising animated installation that brings some of his best-known works to life, plus fashion pieces from his ‘Done Zone’ collaboration with designers Romance Was Born.
