Two men have been charged following separate investigations into alleged drug production on the northern Gold Coast.
Police executed a search warrant on a property on Ruffles Road at Willowvale on Wednesday where they allegedly located a hydroponic grow tent inside a bedroom.
They also uncovered a crossbow, butterfly knife, ammunition, fireworks, cannabis, prescription medications and drug-related utensils.
A 48-year-old man was arrested at the property and has since been charged with a string of offences including possessing dangerous drugs, producing dangerous drugs and possessing things used in the commission of a crime.
A separate search warrant was executed at another home in the same suburb, with investigators allegedly locating a sophisticated underground bunker concealed beneath a concrete floor.
Police say the bunker could only be accessed via a remote-controlled hidden elevator.
Inside, officers found multiple rooms fitted out for hydroponic cannabis cultivation, including grow rooms, drying rooms, and a packaging area.
They allegedly located 24 mature cannabis plants and a further 20 immature plants, along with 10.5 kilograms of cannabis packaged in heat-sealed bags. A significant quantity of cannabis was also found in a dedicated drying room.
A 45-year-old Willow Vale man was charged with one count each of producing dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of crime, and stealing.
He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on 26 February.
