A late-night police pursuit across Logan and the Gold Coast has ended with two men arrested after an unregistered vehicle was tracked travelling at high speed across the city.
Police allege the red Mitsubishi Mirage was first spotted about 8pm on Saturday driving dangerously through traffic on Kingston Road at Logan Central.
POLAIR officers tracked the vehicle southbound along the Pacific Motorway at Slacks Creek before police attempted to intercept it on the Pacific Highway at Burleigh Heads.
The vehicle allegedly failed to stop, prompting officers to deploy a tyre deflation device that brought the car to a halt a short time later.
The two occupants allegedly fled from the vehicle on foot before entering a property on Croft Court in Tugun where police located and arrested both men at the address.
A 21-year-old Russell Island man has been charged with multiple offences, including dangerous operation of a vehicle, evasion, driving while disqualified, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs and entering a dwelling with intent in company.
The man remains in custody and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on August 24.
A second Russell Island man, aged 20, has been charged with entering a dwelling with intent in company and is due to appear in the same court on September 4.
