Dreamworld has unveiled its next multi-million dollar attraction, a new ATV-style ride which will be an Australian-first.

The Gold Coast theme park revealed on Wednesday the near $20 million family adventure ‘Lost Mine Mayhem’ will open in late 2027.

It will be built on the site of the now-closed Motorcoaster in the much-loved precinct Rivertown.

The immersive ride will take guests to the fringe of the precinct in new ATV-style ride vehicles and into a recently rediscovered underground gold store hidden deep beneath the valley.

According to Dreamworld, the ride is inspired by classic treasure-hunting adventures, allowing guests to become part of the journey by joining the mission to uncover the gold store’s secrets and secure what remains.

Construction is expected to begin in the coming months.

Dreamworld CEO Greg Yong said Lost Mine Mayhem was much more than a refresh of a family favourite.

“This isn’t a refresh — it’s a reinvention, and a near $20 million reinvention at that. We’re creating a completely new experience with a new story, brand-new ATV-style ride vehicles, and the immersive theming Dreamworld is now known for,” Mr Yong said.

“The team has created an adventure built around discovery, exploration, and fun. Guests will journey deep beneath Rivertown, making their way through ancient chambers and hidden passages as they race to uncover the secrets of the lost mine before the treasure raiders do.

“It’s exactly the kind of adventure the whole family can enjoy together.

“With Lost Mine Mayhem, our investment in new guest experiences over recent years will reach close to $200 million, supporting Queensland jobs and the local economy right here on the Gold Coast. We can’t wait to bring this next adventure to life in late 2027.”
