UPDATE | Police have confirmed they are searching for two men after a suspicious fire destroyed a Gold Coast massage parlour.
The business on Ashmore Rd in Bundall went up in flames around 4.45am on Monday.
Witness report hearing an explosion around the time the fire broke out.
Residents from nearby homes were also forced to evacuate at the height of the blaze.
Police have since revealed that two men in dark clothing and with face coverings were seen running from the scene shortly after.
A black pair of pants and a black pair of shoes were located a short distance from the fire.
“We do believe it may have been deliberately lit. The scene at the moment presents a large amount of glass scattered onto the road, so that will form part of the crime scene,” Inspector Chris Tritton said.
“Also, some foreign objects, some clothing were located as well.
“So we do ask any members of the public who might have driven through that area from 4,30am and 5am to review their CCTV to see if you see these males.
“One of these males may have also been on an e-scooter.”

The blaze erupted at around 4.45am on Monday morning on Ashmore Rd near Upton St.
Fire crews rushed to the scene but were unable to save the business.
Residents from several nearby homes were evacuated at the height of the blaze.
Emergency services remain on the scene with an investigation set to begin to determine the cause of the fire.
The incident has closed both directions of Ashmore Rd between Bundall Rd and Upton St with motorists urged to avoid the area.
Upton St is also closed between Ashmore Rd and Coogeen St.
