A man has been arrested and charged over the alleged theft of thousands of dollars’ worth of rims and tyres from a luxury Gold Coast car dealership.
Police were conducting inquiries in relation to a man wanted over a string of property offences when they located a stolen vehicle with false registration plates at the Broadwater Parklands.
Detectives then located the man hiding inside public toilets, where he was taken into custody.
During a search of the 29-year-old’s belongings, police allegedly located stolen bank cards, vehicle keys and drug utensils.
A search of the stolen vehicle also uncovered one stolen tyre and rim fitted to the car, along with three additional stolen tyres and rims in the boot.
“It will be alleged the man entered a dealership on High Street, on 2 May, and stole four rims and tyres valued at more than $14,000,” Queensland Police said.
