A Gold Coast woman says she felt the presence of her late mother after winning $100,000 in last night’s Lucky Lotteries draw, describing the life-changing moment as “a little wink from heaven”.
The Labrador local scored the first prize after purchasing an entry with two random numbers through The Lott app.
When contacted with the surprise news, the woman said she had just settled down with a cup of tea when her day suddenly changed forever.
“I can’t believe this. This is amazing,” she said.
“You have no idea what this’ll do for me.”
The woman revealed her late mother had always loved playing lotteries and dreamed of one day landing a big win herself.
Since her passing, the daughter said she had continued buying tickets in honour of her mum, recalling how her mother would carefully check lottery numbers every draw, often calling late at night to see if she had won.
“She’d diligently tick them off and say, ‘Nothing this time but one day I’ll win’,” the woman said.
“I definitely see this as a little wink from her.”
Still soaking in the win, the woman said the $100,000 prize would open the door to new opportunities, including fulfilling her dream of travelling overseas.
