A man has escaped a burning sail boat fire in the Broadwater.
The blaze erupted around 10.30pm Monday near Brown Island, which is between Sovereign Island and South Stradbroke Island.
The man living on board managed to jump onto his tinny and get to shore safely.
The boat was extensively damaged.
A police spokesperson says the fire is believe to’ve been sparked by an electric battery from an e-bike on board.
The fire has been deemed non-suspicious, with no further investigations.
