A man has been charged with a string of offences following an investigation into property crimes at industrial sites on the northern Gold Coast.
Officers were called to a development site on Telford Circuit at Yatala around 11am on Monday, following reports that unknown people were unlawfully on the premises.
The site’s front gate had been damaged and the people inside were allegedly stripping copper from suspected stolen property, including air-conditioning units, power boxes and switchboards.
Officers then found a stash of property concealed beneath a tarp, including power tools, switchboards, copper cabling and other items that did not belong to the worksite.
A man was also found inside a stolen white Isuzu D-Max utility, which was full of additional property.
He was arrested at the scene.
Investigations have since linked the man to a break and enter at an industrial construction site on Christensen Road South, Stapylton, the day before.
Police will allege offenders entered the site, forced entry into two storage containers, stole construction equipment and unlawfully used a company utility.
A 28-year-old Jamboree Heights man has been charged with three counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of enter premises and commit an indictable offence, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing utensils or pipes that had been used, and authority required to possess explosives.
He is due to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 27 July.
Investigations remain ongoing.
