Australia’s favourite Tasmanian Devil, Mary, is officially on the mend following her dramatic adventure in the wild.

The two-year-old marsupial captivated the nation after pulling off a mysterious breakout from her enclosure at Paradise Country in Oxenford on June 2.

Park officials attribute the great escape to what they described as an “abnormally large leap” that bypassed her habitat’s barriers.

Her freedom triggered a massive manhunt through the surrounding Gold Coast bushland before she was finally captured two weeks later and rushed to hospital where she was diagnosed with inflammation of the brain.

Fortunately, the resilient devil is making positive progress after being released back into the care of Paradise Country, with her team confirming she is improving daily and has successfully transitioned to a “steady diet of kangaroo and chicken meat”.

To help her regain full mobility, she is also undergoing regular physiotherapy sessions.

While Mary remains off-exhibit in a private sanctuary to ensure she can rest and continue her rehabilitation, her adoring fans can still get their fix.

Paradise Country is hosting daily keeper talks at 11.00am and 1.00pm, where guests can learn all about Mary’s incredible journey and check in on her companion, Mavka.
