Man charged over destructive hit-and-run crash on the Gold Coast 

A man’s been charged over a massive crash in Labrador.

A Mercedes-Benz collided with two parked vehicles on Parker Street around 10.20am Saturday before coming to crashing halt in a nearby garden bed.

The man behind the wheel allegedly fled the scene on foot before being tracked down to an address in Biggera Waters.

The 43-year-old Hope Island man was arrested by police and has since been charged with several offences, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving under the influence of a relevant drug and driving whilst he was under the influence of liquor.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Southport Magistrates Court today, 27 July.
