A man has allegedly blown six times the legal blood alcohol limit following a crash on the Gold Coast that happened during the morning rush.

Police were called to Regency Place in Mudgeeraba around 7.35am on Wednesday after a Hyundai I-Load van had crashed into two parked vehicles.

Officers spoke with the driver and he underwent a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

He was taken into custody and a secondary analysis allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.300 per cent, more than six times the legal limit.

A 39-year-old Upper Coomera man was issued a notice to appear for driving under the influence of liquor.

He is due to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on 13 October.
