Woman found dead after falling into water at Hope Island

There’s been tragedy in a quiet Hope Island estate after a woman was found dead.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 60s, died after falling into a waterway off Promenade Circuit just before midnight on Friday.

Police were initially called to the scene around 11.40pm for a welfare check when they made the discovery.

Police have confirmed they are not treating the death as suspicious, with a report now being prepared for the coroner.

It’s understood the incident is being treated as misadventure.
