Trams grind to a halt across the Gold Coast

Gold Coast trams have ground to a halt this afternoon, causing major delays right along the network.

Passengers on board stuck trams have been told there is an issue with radio communications, and it is not safe for trams to move.

According to Translink, trams travelling in both directions are suspended between Helensvale and Burleigh Heads due to mechanical issues.

Delays of up to 60 minutes are currently being experienced, with buses being brought in to get passengers moving.
