A fire at a popular family resort in Surfers Paradise overnight has forced over 1200 guests to evacuate during the busy school holiday period.
The blaze erupted inside a change room at the Paradise Resort around 7.45pm, with four fire crews rushing to the scene to extinguish it.
The entire building was evacuated as crews worked to battle the flames and ventilate rooms, with guests not able to access their rooms until just after midnight.
Paramedics assessed one woman in her 20s for emotional destress, but no one required transport to hospital.
It’s still not known exactly what sparked the blaze, with investigations to continue today.
