There’s been a tragic end to a major search and rescue operation at a popular swimming hole in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
Emergency crews were called to Cedar Creek Falls around 5pm on Tuesday following reports of a missing swimmer.
It’s understood a 27-year-old man had been swimming when he failed to resurface, sparking a major emergency response.
Sadly, his body was located around two hours later by water rescue teams.
The tragic discovery follows the drowning death of a 13-year-old boy in the same spot five years ago.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
