At least five cars have been damaged after a crane toppled over at Bond University.

Emergency services were called to a carpark of the Uni campus around 11.20am on Wednesday.

The crane was being used to cut trees that had been damaged during the cyclone when it tipped over onto its side.

One car parked next to the crane appeared to be completely crushed.

Several others were damaged by the crane’s boom and a tree which was brought down when the crane toppled over.

The crane was being operated remotely at the time and the operator was not injured.

No one else on the ground was injured either.

Workplace Health and Safety is investigating.
