Disqualified driver charged after Robina crash leaves innocent motorist injured

A man has been hit with multiple traffic charges after losing control of his ute and slamming into a parked car in Robina.

The collision occurred when the man’s white Toyota Hilux veered off Christine Avenue around 8.40pm before ploughing into a parked VW Polo hatch, pushing it against a tree.

A 47-year-old man was sitting inside the parked Volkswagen at the time of crash and suffered a significant gash to his head.

He was assessed at the scene by Queensland Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

The 27-year-old driver of the Toyota Hilux walked away from the crash uninjured but has since been charged with disqualified driving and failing to have proper control of a motor vehicle.
