Gold Coast residents are being warned there could be a bit of smoke around the hinterland over the coming days due to a planned burn.
The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service are conducting a hazard reduction burn in Lamington National Park between 9 February and Wednesday 11 February.
As a result of the burn, smoke may be seen in nearby areas including Binna Burra and Numinbah Valley, Binna Burra Road and Nerang Murwillumbah Road.
Those visiting Lamington National Park, are being urged to observe all signs, barriers and directions from QPWS Rangers and never enter closed areas.
People are also being told to avoid driving through smoke where possible and to be aware of firefighters working in the area.
Residents in the area affected by smoke are being urged to stay indoors and close windows and doors; and keep respiratory medication close by.
