A man has been charged, accused of bashing another man at a Gold Coast service station before robbing him.
Police were called to the service station on Ghilgai Rd in Merrimac just after 10.45pm on Tuesday.
The victim, a man in his 50s, had allegedly been kicked in the head before falling to the ground, where his attacker continued to assault him.
The man then had money stolen from him before the offender fled the scene.
The victim was assessed by paramedics but declined transport to hospital.
Police attended a nearby unit where a 29-year-old Merrimac man was arrested.
He has since been charged with one count of robbery with violence
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
