LATEST @ June 5 | A man has now been charged with murder over a horror hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a Gold Coast man in Brisbane.

Ryan William Victor Grafton, 30, died instantly after a Ford Mondeo ploughed into the passenger side of the rideshare vehicle he was travelling in at Wacol around 2am on Tuesday.

Instead of stopping to help, police allege the driver of the stolen Ford fled the scene on foot, sparking a major manhunt.

Following a week-long search, and public appeal for information, the man handed himself into Acacia Ridge police on Monday night.

The 28-year-old from Goodna has now been charged with a string of offences including one count each of murder, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and driving whilst disqualified.

He’s also been hit with one count of possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs, receiving tainted property and stealing.

The man is due appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
