A major manhunt is underway after a supermarket on the northern Gold Coast was targeted in a dramatic ram raid.
Brazen thieves allegedly used an angle grinder to cut the lock on a safety bollard at Ormeau Village Shopping Centre around 3am on Wednesday.
They’re then accused of ploughing a silver Ford Ranger through the front glass doors of Coles.
Once inside the supermarket, police say the offenders damaged an ATM machine before stealing the internal money box.
Police swarmed the area a short time later, but the culprits had already fled the scene by the time they arrived.
Investigations are ongoing.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
