Police are searching for a driver who allegedly smashed into two parked cars in Southport before making a run for it.

The Peugeot turned into Mason Street just after 8pm on Thursday, before crashing into the two parked vehicles.

The impact caused the car to roll onto its roof, with the driver managing to get themselves out before ditching the vehicle and running off.

A Queensland Police spokesperson has confirmed the vehicle is not believed to have been stolen.

“Investigators are appealing for the driver or anyone with further information to contact police,” the spokesperson told Hot Tomato.

Investigations are ongoing.
