Crews are working tirelessly around the clock to get affected homes and businesses back online with work ramping up on Tuesday.
As of 6am, 44,102 customers across the Gold Coast were still without power, down from more than 130,000 on Sunday.
“The weather has given us a good break and the sun is starting to appear so we should really be able to start getting involved into a hell of a lot more without the interference from the weather,” Energex spokesperson Danny Donald said.
“We’re aiming to get nearly every home and business up and running by Sunday night.”
Affected customers can now see an estimated time of when their power is likely to be restored.
“Nearly every home and suburb has the restoration time up there and running now, but we’re still loading a bit of data.
“And if you’ve got a friend or family member who doesn’t have internet, have a look at their address online and the they should be able to give them a call and tell them what their estimated time is too.”
