A serial thief has finally been caught by police following an extensive investigation into property offences being committed across the south east, including on the Gold Coast.

Last Thursday, detectives from Gold Coast CIB, with assistance from Ipswich Property Crime Unit and Ipswich Tactical Crime Squad officers, executed a search warrant at a home in Ipswich.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized stolen property, licence plates and a white Volkswagen Golf.

The man they were looking for wasn’t at the home at the time. However, police eventually tracked him down travelling in a vehicle in a nearby suburb.

Officers followed the man to a property in Brassal where he tried to make a run for it.

However, he didn’t make it far, with police eventually finding him hiding behind a shed where they finally took him into custody.

Police will allege the man was responsible for multiple crimes across the Gold Coast, Logan, Brisbane and Ipswich during April and May, including break and enter offences, vehicle thefts and stealing offences.
