Miami residents, businesses and community leaders are being invited to play an important role in shaping the suburb’s future, with nominations now open for a new Community Reference Group.

The initiative comes as the suburb undergoes a major transformation aimed at cementing its reputation as a premier destination for recreation, sport and the arts.

Mayor Tom Tate said the group would ensure local voices remain at the heart of decision-making as significant investments continue across the Miami precinct.

“Our investment in Miami is an investment into the community’s future,” the Mayor said.

“The Community Reference Group will provide an essential platform for the community to share their ideas, concerns and aspirations for the precinct’s future.

“It will ensure everyone has a seat at the table as we shape Miami’s exciting next chapter.”

The group will act as a key link between the City and the community, providing feedback on local issues, infrastructure projects and future opportunities.

Members will help guide plans as Miami continues to evolve through major projects including upgrades to Pizzey Park and the development of the Miami Arts Depot.

The precinct renewal is set to deliver world-class sporting, recreational and creative facilities ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Mayor Tate described the investment as a “once-in-a-generation” opportunity to create a vibrant community hub that blends sport, lifestyle and the arts while positioning Miami as a leading destination on the Gold Coast.
