Gold Coasters are being warned there could be some smoke around parts of the Hinterland today.
Queensland Parks and Wildlife is conducting a planned burn in Plunkett Conservation Park, near Cedar Creek, between Tuesday 14 April and Thursday 16 April.
As a result of the planned burn, smoke may be seen in nearby areas including Logan Village and Yarrabilba.
QPWS is urging those visiting Plunkett Conservation Park to “observe all signs, barriers, and directions from QPWS Rangers and never enter closed areas”.
Motorists in the area are also being urged to avoid driving through smoke where possible and be aware of firefighters working in the area.
Residents are being urged to close all windows and doors, while those affected by smoke are being urged to keep respiratory medication close by.
