Suspicious blaze guts car on quiet Ashmore Street

Police are probing a suspicious car fire that lit up a quiet Ashmore street in the early hours of this morning.

Crews were called to Hebb Street just after midnight to find the vehicle well alight.

Firefighters managed to bring the flames under control before they were able to spread any further.

Thankfully, no one was injured, but the scorched vehicle has been seized.

Detectives say the cause of the fire is still under investigation and are calling on anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has CCTV from the area to come forward.
