Police have tracked down a man wanted for allegedly holding up two Gold Coast stores with a hammer.
The man is accused of entering a convenience store on Mildura Drive in Helensvale around 5.45pm on Sunday, threatening a 30-year-old male employee with a hammer.
The man fled with a sum of cash, while the worker was not injured.
Around 6.35pm, the same man is alleged to have entered a cake store on Cottonwood Place and Oxenford, threatening a 39-year-old male employee with a hammer.
The man fled with a sum of cash on a dark-coloured moped.
Detectives located the Honda moped belonging to a 20-year-old man at an address in Oxenford on Tuesday.
A claw hammer was also allegedly located in a storage compartment under the seat.
Officers executed a search warrant at another Oxenford address on Wednesday, arresting a 20-year-old man.
He was charged with two counts of armed robbery and fronted Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The man was refused bail, with his matter adjourned until March 26.
