Mary the elusive Tasmanian Devil has “defied all the odds” and has finally returned to her habitat at Paradise Country.
Mary returned to the park in June following a two-week stint in the wild, after escaping her enclosure.
She’s then spent the past three months being nursed back to health by a dedicated team of wildlife experts, with guests to the park now able to watch her mischievous antics as she explores the exhibit.
Paradise Country Curator of Wildlife, Lauren Mousley, says this is an exciting milestone, and she can’t wait for the public to meet Mary.
“It has been a long road to recovery for Mary, but we are incredibly pleased to see her back exploring her habitat so confidently,” Ms Mousley says.
“Throughout her recovery, Mary has defied all the odds, with her improvements being phenomenal, and we can’t wait to welcome guests to the park to watch as the mischievous Mary explores,
“Mary has been an incredible ambassador for her species, and with Tasmanian Devils endangered, we hope when our guests visit they will become inspired to help conservation efforts to save the world’s largest surviving carnivorous marsupial.”
