A p-plate driver’s been caught allegedly on drugs behind the wheel after being pulled over in Logan.

Police intercepted a defective Ford Falcon sedan on Yarrabilba Drive, Yarrabilba during a targeted road-safety enforcement, Operation Interpose, at around 11.20pm on 1 May.

The driver, an 18-year-old Provisional 1 driver, was on late night driving restrictions with three passengers in the car.

Police allege a saliva analysis of the driver returned a positive result.

The Crestmead man has now been charged with one count of drug-driving, and is scheduled to appear at the Beaudesert Magistrates Court on 30 June.

Additionally, he received three Traffic Infringement Notices for defects on his car and for dricing with passengers.

He was fined $1166, 7 demerit points and had his licence suspended.
