A woman has been charged over the alleged torture and neglect of a child in Logan.
Police launched an investigation in February after the 10-year-old girl was admitted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital suffering dehydration, critical malnutrition and significant untreated injuries.
Police declared a crime scene at the child’s Logan Reserve home as they probed the circumstances surrounding the young girl’s injuries.
Following extensive inquiries, a 40-year-old Logan Reserve woman has now been charged with three counts of fail to supply necessaries and one count of torture.
She is due to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
The child remains in the Intensive Care Unit in a stable condition.
