A horror crash on a busy highway in the Scenic Rim has left a child with life-threatening injuries.
A Subaru Impreza sedan travelling southbound collided with a Nissan Qashqai station wagon at the intersection of Mount Lindesay Highway and Gould Hill Road around 2.15pm Monday.
A child, who was a passenger in the Nissan, was airlifted to hospital fighting for life.
A second child, a 13-year-old girl, and the driver, a 56-year-old Gleneagle woman, were also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Subaru, a 52-year-old Beaudesert man, did not sustain any physical injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit has launched an investigation.
Officers are appealing to anyone with relevant information or CCTV or dashcam to contact police.
