Two people have been charged with manslaughter over a fatal crash on the northern Gold Coast last year that claimed the life of a 3-year-old boy.

A vehicle travelling on Eastern Service Rd in Stapylton crashed in the early hours of Saturday, October 25, 2025.

The car contained a 22-year-old-woman, a 24-year-old man, a 3-year-old boy, and a 1-year-old boy.

The 3-year-old boy suffered significant head injuries and was taken by a member of the public to Beenleigh Police Station along with the woman.

The boy was declared deceased at the scene.

The 24-year-old man and the 1-year-old boy were later found at an address in Beenleigh.

The boy was taken to hospital for assessment and was cleared of serious injury.

Police launched Operation Xray Grid to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Detectives have since determined the woman was allegedly driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The Labrador woman, who is now 23-years-old, has now been charged with one count each of manslaughter domestic violence offence against a child, trafficking in dangerous drugs, driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.

The 24-year-old Beenleigh man has been charged with one count each of manslaughter domestic violence offence against a child, and trafficking in dangerous drugs.

Both are due to front Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
